Suggested Cash Procedures (and Their Qualities)

Qualities of the Ideal Cash Procedures
- Not covered by insurance: if you accept cash for doing medical work, you should be able to offer something not covered by insurance. This is not too difficult, considering that around 40% of prescriptions written are off-label, according to the FDA. For example, most of what is done with cosmetic botulinum toxin is off-label. And, though treating migraines with botulinum toxin is on label, treating Bruxism is not. Every off-label use supported by research but still an “orphan” indication is where people need you to offer treatment, but insurance will not likely cover it because of the off-label status.
- Safe procedures.
- Procedures and products that profoundly change lives but are not covered by insurance. For example, aerobic exercise is considered better than any drug for helping prevent heart attack, but coaching a patient about how to integrate this practice in their life is not covered by insurance; so, a program in your office that might include weekly health classes with a group environment would be helpful but not covered by insurance.
- Anything that helps with sex, beauty, or infertility, we will pay most for what directly brings us love. Most people want their insurance to pay for their blood pressure medications, but they will pay cash for what makes them more attractive or better in bed.
- Everything must be backed by research. You are not an “alternative” to good, research-backed medicine. You offer “adjunctive” therapies backed by research but not covered by insurance.

Botulinum Toxin Injections
Of all the for-cash procedures, those using botulinum toxin (BoNT) may be the easiest to learn. This course offers a way to quickly learn the 12 injection points for doing beautiful results with cosmetic BoNT. It also shows you how to treat four medical problems: (1) depression, (2) migraines, (3) bruxism, and (4) erectile dysfunction. Here are the details (click)<–
Platelet-Rich Plasma Procedures
PRP is very safe. It is not magic; to offer it successfully, you must understand who it may help, who will likely not help, and the proper protocols. Over the past decade, these courses have proven to help doctors achieve that end (with secondary dramatic improvements in patients’ lives and extra profit for their office).
